About Anita

Since my youth, I have loved the heart-opening effects of listening to and creating melodic sounds. For over 25 years, I have been a musician and singer/songwriter, especially drawn to Celtic styles and other forms of world music. This lifelong devotion to music is the foundation of my work in sound healing in Australia, where sound is used as a powerful tool for emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

I have worked as a teacher in Rudolf Steiner early learning, as well as an English teacher and a relief music teacher in public high schools. In these settings, the opportunity to bring the healing benefits of singing and vibration into educational environments has been my greatest joy and motivation. This experience continues to inform my approach to sound healing training in Australia, where education, embodiment, and heart-led practice are deeply intertwined.

A lifelong love of sharing heroic tales from world mythology, folklore, and fantasy fiction with my children and students has naturally led me to combine storytelling with the rhythmic, entrancing sounds of healing instruments. In my personal sound baths and storytelling events, I incorporate singing wherever possible, as the human voice carries the soul's unique qualitiesof the soul, conveying intention, compassion, and unconditional love. The voice is one of our most powerful healing instruments, and this understanding forms a key part of my sound healing certification in Australia, where students are encouraged to explore their own voice as a tool for healing.

I actively encourage regular singing or toning, either alone or in community, emphasizing that you do not need to be a “good” singer. Whether singing or humming, the benefits are profound: releasing endorphins, lowering blood pressure, reducing stress, clearing energetic stagnation, and resonating through the inner and outer being, while also positively influencing our environment, near and far.

As a meditation teacher and energy healer in the yogic tradition for over 25 years, I have also been deeply immersed in the traditional vocal therapy and devotional music of India. I gained this knowledge through the teachings of Dr. Arun Apte and have integrated it into meditation practices and Nada (sound) Yoga classes. Over the years, I have facilitated many gatherings of kirtan and bhajans - the traditional call-and-response devotional singing,  and now include songs of this style in English and other languages as part of my offerings in sound healing in Australia.

Today, my love of nature and the musical universe is the primary inspiration for the music I create with my voice and sound healing instruments. I believe that my deepening relationship with the natural world has expanded my capacity to energetically support others and myself. This, combined with the extraordinary therapeutic qualities of sound healing instruments and the uniquely personal human voice, lies at the heart of my work in sound healing and professional sound healing certification in Australia.
