Here Principal Tony Nec speaks to editor Alison McEvoy about how we can use breath, movement and sound healing techniques to regulate our autonomic nervous system in these stressful times.
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is connected to but separate from our central nervous system.
It regulates our heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and digestion.
The ANS is subdivided into two large components, the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as the fight-or-flight mechanism and the relaxation response.
